...proof that ancient greek and roman cultures used metallic materials for record keeping. And how does this relate to the BoM? (BTW...any 'anti' who claims that the BoM is fake because 'no one wrote on gold plates' is just as errant as someone like you who claims that just because ancient greek and roman cultures used metal, that the BoM is therfore authentic.)

Have you established that *jews* of 6th century BC used metal meterials for record keeping? Has there been Mesoamerican remains of that early a period, records preserved on metal plates with Hebrew parallels been found?

Considering that the Greek and Roman civilizations were far more advanced in weapon making, statue building, art, architecture, metallurgy, philosophy, etc. (just about everything) than the Jewish civilization (and the Hellenization of the Jews came much later), I think it's much more important to find parallels with ancient Jewish civilization in the form of metal-plate record keeping. If some exist, why all the bother about Greek and Roman parallels? (We already know that Greek and Roman parallels are nonexistant in Mesoamerica.)

Remember...it is *you* who asserts the BoM is authentic, and the burden of proof is upon *your* shoulders, not us skeptics.

As an aside, why use the Zohar or Kabbalistic tradition as a support for the authenticity of BoM (or J Smith) theology? The accuracy and source of these materials (in a factual sense) are no more credible than the Bible, BoM, Gnostic Gospels, Apocrypha or whatever. As the Kabbalah is the mystical 'hidden' underbelly of Judaism, why should it be any more credible than if you found a Biblical parallel? i mean, if there is any Truth in it, why would God hide it from everybody (thus only known by the Select Few)? If it is true, then why do we need Mormonism? If it's not, or even partially true, then how can we determine which part is true? ....just curious.
