I didn't see the first one.
Most importantly, it reminded me that there are other options of how to live. Making some of those changes could well bring me some inner peace.
The discussion of Holland reminded me of my recent adventure in Sweden -- another environment conscious country. I rented a car and drove all over north, south and west of Stockholm. I saw no litter, smelled no polution. I saw one police car. I was stunned to find so few overweight people. The fattest people were American and German tourists.
Swedes are proud to point out that life expectancy is nearly the highest in the world, crime is the lowest and you can fish for trout and Salmon in the waterways around Stockholm.
I can't tell if this situation is forced on them through high taxes, or if it is something innate to Swedish culture.
Maybe someone who lived there for a while can give a more educated view than mine (tourist impression).
