Your link does provide information that marijuana has more benzopyrene than tobacco, but as potbert so authoritatively :) points out, marijuana smokers don't expose themselves as much.
Some quick calculations:
Average marijuana smoker: 2 hits/day, or about 1/3 of a joint (is that close, potbert?). That equals 0.33 joints/day * 7 days/week * 30 ng/joint = 70 ng benzopyrene per week.
Average tobacco smoker: 10 cigarettes/day (or more?). That equals 10 cigarettes/day * 7 days/week * 21 ng/cigarette = 1470 ng benzopyrene per week.
So back in the direction of my original post, legalization of all marijana use, what is the rational, nonideological reason for the criminalization of marijuana?
