What I mean by McCarthyism is the blacklisting, imprisioning, or otherwise doing harm to a person based on their political beliefs. It is the same as religious persecution only politics are substituted for religion. Instead of the victim being an atheist, Mormon, Christian, Jew, etc. the victim is a Communist, Socialist, or other person who believes in a political party that the persecutor (or majority) doesn't agree with.

To answer your question... No I am not a Communist. Quite the opposite in fact. I probably agree more with Libertarian philosophy than any other party.
