I think medical use of marijuana is rather beside the point--people should be allowed to do what they want, even if it's not always good for them (drinking, cigarettes, coffee, etc. etc.). However here's an interesting tidbit in the below link. Seems once the gov't stops restricting studies, interesting things emerge...
