Yes and we certainly should. If something impairs judgement it should be illegal *if* that impairment is likely to adversely affect the rights of others. It should be illegal to drive drunk, stoned, with a blindfold on, etc.
Why should it be illegal for an adult to get drunk, stoned, or put a blindfold on while they are in the safety of their own home (and don't plan to go anywhere)?
If it could be shown that people that get stoned feel an overwhelming compulsion to jump in the car and drive around then there may be a point to making it illegal. Otherwise...
