... I honestly believe that there are some people who are just not wired for complex answers. It's as though the world is 2-dimensional, and this third dimension they hear about is something irrelevant to their existence. Or their eyes only see black and white, and color is a theory. While the idea of "dumbing down" theories and ethics is offensive to me, is it better to have someone who has a little insight or someone who is totally baffled by what the other people are talking about? Can all people be enlightened? Or is humanity really divided into inherent, democratically anathema classes? As you can't legislate morality, neither can you impose equality.
