If it is true that we use only 10% of our brains, this would seem to
contradict the very principle of Darwinian evolution. Darwin's theory
presupposes that genetic variations are selected because they offer those particular
organisms which possess them a competitive advantage. Obviously if we don't
use 90% of our brains, then that portion of the brain could not offer
any such advantage. So how did it evolve?

: Our brains may not be able to use more than 10% of the total neurons at *any one time* but that doesn't mean that most, if not all, neurons are put to use at a given time or another. I highly recommend the following title for a better understanding of how the brain works:
