: I'm not trying to prove anything about Jesus. I'm looking for truth. In doing so, I'm interested in the method used to find that truth. Obviously, Jesus was either fictional or real. His character is from history, be it yesterday or 2000 years ago. I did not say he was real or not. My problem here is the method utilized to handle evidence. Instead of questioning what I'm trying to demonstrate, you are asking me to prove something about Jesus. I think that is because you think I was trying to prove his existance. Just set Jesus aside for now.

: How would you prove to me that George Washington was real? I've never done this exercise and would be interested in how you would tackle that question; unless you doubt he existed, then I'll just move along.

: : rusty, the above is a clear and unequivocal statement of yours. i think it behooves you to present your evidence.

(Robert)This is altogether different. There exists physical evidence that George Washington existed. His grave could even be exhumed and remnants found. No one though tries to claim that Washington was a supernatural being. The concern is not did Jesus exist, i.e., did a man exist 2000 years ago by the name of Jesus. The central tenet of christianity has little to do with Jesus as a historical figure. It has to do with the belief that Jesus was the son of god and beyond the natural. Where is THAT proof?
