I am afraid I am one of the pro life people who are pushed by emotion on the abortion debate. You are correct in assuming that I would not accept such a "reasonable conclusion". Humans are emotional and I do not beleive that we yet understand how emotion works. Perhaps a fetus cannot reason but do you think it cannot feel. Do you think it is in every way oblivious to its early demise in the womb when an abortion is performed? If you can rebuttle with a scientific answer I would be intersted in hearing it. I am emotionally tied to this issue in any case because I have had 2 abortions and I feel what I did was very wrong. Have you ever seen a picture of a 10 week old fetus, this may change your perspective. You seem to be makeing your case on a distinction between concious life and physical life. Are you saying that physical life is less valuable than concious life? What implications does this reasoning have on human ethics, what else could we justify using such a theory?
