I don't consider myself methodist (my mentioning "pseudo-methodist" was a joke) and I've entirely had my fill of evangelism both from my fundamentalist "neighbors" (I live in Oklahoma) and from my own weak efforts as a missionary for the mormon church. I am a christian, however, and I'm looking for those who would interpret their christianity (which justifies itself on humanist grounds instead of on appeals to mythical beings) like I do but who still appreciate the expressions of hope that religious practice brings (to me, anyway). Don't worry about your UU friends... I don't want to convert anyone to humanist jesus-ism. I'm just looking for it.
