Paul was speaking for god. Are you saying god was worried about offending the romans with his Truth? How much more of the bible do we second guess to what god really means? Perhaps the bible-god said what he meant and he didn't want slavery abolished?

Why is god's perfect "instruction manual" for humanity continually being corrected by man as our society matures?

:I wish this whole issue would have been cleared up a long time ago, and the whole sorry issue of slavery in the South didn't happen. I'm glad that some 19th century Christians were concerned enought to work for abolishment of slavery.

Careful Tammy, you're nearly giving man credit for something. Besides, I believe the non-christians were more helpful at abolishing slavery (though I could be wrong)--Lincoln was definitly not Christian.
