In the strict sense, there are no theories today other than evolution, any more than there are alternative theories competing with gravity.

We all know evolution and gravity exist. How they work is the concern of scientists today.

However, if by "theory", you mean something like
"guess", then there are as many of those as there are religions. Not that I'm knocking religions. I'm a believer myself. But these are not theories.
