I opened this book with some trepidation. The omens were not good. First a a trilogy which had then expanded with (at time of writing) another three books. A writer who was obsessed with being photographed in coffins.
despite all this, Interview With the Vampire is a very good book. If you can get over the fact that there are no chapters (just think dark Pratchett) you will be treated with one of the most sensual and decandent books ever, which is strange because there is little sex in the book. At the end of it you feel pity for Louis but the main questions it asks are about Lestat and Armand. If you read this book, which, if you're into horror fiction I strongly recommend, you should be prepared to go the whole way with the Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, Tale of The Body Thief, Memnoch The Devil and most recently, The Vampire Armand.
