All,

I'm about half way through Sorenson's "An Ancient American Setting
for the Book of Mormon."
I'm not really sure what to make of it.
I've picked out some parts where he's grasping at straws, but I'm wondering
if there is a worthwhile rebuttal out there someplace.

On a related note, I'm also looking for some good information on the
calendar the Nephites were supposed to have used. I've heard several
theories:

- they used the Egyptian (365 days), the Jewish (360 days)

- they used a straight 360 day calendar.

- they used a 360 day calendar with extra months thrown in at
convenient spots.

- they used the Jewish calendar for scheduling religious events and
the Egyptian for all things secular.

- there were no Nephites, so any speculation on what calendar they used
is pointless.

While I somewhat agree with the last one, information on the subject would
be greatly appreciated.

Bryce

P.S.: Great site! Keep up the good work!
