: : (Xavier)Can you not understand atheism as a lack of any religious belief or god in those simple terms, rather than impose your religious paradigms on it? I still will never understand how a LACK of belief in religion and god BECOMES a religion with an object of worship. You Calvinists are a confusing lot.

: Thanks for the compliment, but it is simple observation that no society in recorded history has ever refrained from worshipping a deity or group of deities. It just doesn't happen.

(Xavier)Again an opinion. Where is your analysis? If you must insist that I "worship" something, it is NOT man. It would be the beauty and majesty of natureand its forces. No matter how much we learn from it we have found that it is not always predictable, controllable, or completely understandable. It existed before us and will exist beyond us. We just learn to adapt. What religion would this be, since you insist that everyone must have a religion?

:
: : : Life can certainly create more life. Can non-living matter create life without a living organism? No. An atheist must have faith this is possible, as there is no scientific proof.

: : (Xavier) Please study more on abiogenesis.

: What's your point?

(Xavier)That you seem to not understand its concepts and theories.

:
: : (Xavier) What would artificial intelligence be? How do we know that there is no intelligence elsewhere in the universe, in some entity that does not conform to the definitions of life as we now understand it?

: Oh, brother!

(xavier)Excellant, well thought out response, that is sure to inspire some thoughtful musings on my part.
