: I'm looking for proofs that god cannot exist...
: I don't mean to be snide, but there is no way to "prove" the non-existence of God. Suppose you were accused of hundreds of crimes by your local D.A., who wanted to clear out the unsolved case files in his office...how would you ever "prove" you didn't commit all of them?
: I am looking for somebody to prove he DOES exist, preferrably God Himself. Since it would be a simple matter for the almighty to prove himself to me, and since he hasn't, I have to assume he doesn't...or that he does but I am not important enough to convince. If the first supposition is true, I am correct and want to live life on this Earth the best way I can, making the most of it. If the second is accurate, well why should I worry about Him (or her)? He or She isn't worried about me...so I don't bother.
: Make the most of your time. This may be the only life you will get.
I honestly believe that there will never be any proof for or against God. It's like trying to prove the existance of some alternate universe that is completely undetectable by anyone in our universe. We can speculate all we wan't about that universe, but we'll never be able to prove that it does or doesn't exist with certainty, however vague that certainty may be.
Because there has never been a reason to believe in this universe (aside from the fact that someone suggested the idea that it might exist), and because there is no proof (nor will ever be) for this universe, it is best to not believe in it. Or to at least not concern yourself with it.
Although I am an Atheist, I do agree with the Taoist idea that God cannot be defined in anyway. Even saying that God is "good" (thus giving him moral allignment) is redicules. If God is beyond time, then what's to prevent him from being beyond morality.
What this boils down to is that *if* there is a God, we don't know anything about him. And we probably never will. So you'd be best to live your life as if God doesn't exist, otherwise you'll be living a delusion.
