First, I'm not sure you have understood the purpose of this site, but I'll let the "chief slimebag" address that.
Second, don't worry about being misled around here. Nobody is asking you to "just have faith" in the current dogma. You look at the evidence, try to examine it from different viewpoints, and then decide for yourself.
