Seconding rpcman's response, the God Makers contains some accurate material, but it is overwrought and its conclusions are ludicrous. I knew Chuck and Dolly Sackett, who obtained what I believe were the first tape recorded endowment sessions, and who appeared in the God Makers films. They were neighbors of mine when I was a teenager; we were in the same ward, and I used to feed their dogs when they went on vacation. IMHO, they are not the sharpest knives in the drawer and have problems that go way beyond Mormonism.
In sum, if you're looking for legitimate criticism of Mormonism, the God Makers is not the place to find it.
