: ...I repeat again...there is no disagreement in the scientific community that evolution happened and is considered fact, based on the overwhelming evidence. I believe though, that I am wasting my poor typing skills trying to convince you, since I am convinced that you choose not to abandon your precious religious beliefs no matter what.
: I would agree with you. Most, not all, scientists are like minded in regard to their evolutionary stance. But you forgot to reveal to me any evidence. It would seem that you, if anybody, hold a precious religous belief, that is, one without evidence. Let's look at the science that all science uses; mathematics. Molecular biologist Harold Morowitz (Yale University) calcualtes the odds of spontaneous generation as 10 to the 100,000,000,000 power. This event is mathematically impossible to ever occur. In his book Progress in Theoretical, Harold Morowitz estimates that it takes at least 124 different proteins to carry out necessary life functions. Then on page 99 of his book, Energy Flow in Biology, he calculates the probability of the simplest living organism to occur by chance formation as 10 to the 340,000,000 power. This too is mathematically impossible.
: What I consider mathematically impossible comes from a nobel laureate from Switzerland, I believe. I can get you more info but I think he won the nobel prize with his steady state theory. He calculated that any event that is greater than 10 to the 50th power is mathematically impossible to ever occur. I will find his name and more on this next time.
: These odds bother me. Why don't they bother you? Is your mind immune from the laws of mathematics?
: Do you have any reply or any evidence that support your natural theology? I'm sure you do, just don't assume things about me since you know nothing about my background. I'm just learning like you.
Try visiting some noted museums of natural history. If what you want is observable evolution, its been done in the lab. Since when have the origins of life (aka "big bang"?) been considered as an example of spontaneous generation? Besides, I thought that the subject was evolution. I believe what you are now discussing is abiogenesis, which is a different subject. Did your molecular biologist ever do research into evolution? Please explain to me the relation of his ideas concerning steady state theory to those of evolution. Did you link to www.talkorigins.org? They have several articles, FAQ, links, references, etc., that you can use to try and understand what evolution REALLY is (as opposed to what the creation "scientists" preach). Also, please study up on abiogenesis so you can realize that it is a seperate topic.
I fail to comprehend your use of the term "natural theology", since theology is the study of the nature of God and religious truth. Who or what is the God you claim I follow? What supernatural being is involved in the scientific study of evolution. The Creationists have tried this trick in the courts before, of attempting to paint evolution as a religion, in a failed effort to claim that the teaching of evolution in public schools was a sponsering of religion. Fortunately for us, cooler heads prevailed and the Creationists lost.
Since you are so concerned with evidence, how about if you list some of the evidence that may suggest a viable alternative to evolution. Is there scientific evidence in support of special creation? There must not be because if they had any, I would think they would show the world.
