Yes, I have read, and heard that claim cited by several sources over the years. It seems that it is an oral tradition, which survives in several forms today. It is especially held to be true by small Celtic sects in Wales and Ireland.
Read Holy Blood / Holy Grail - Baigent, Leigh, & Lincoln, and other titles by the same, which I can't recall at the moment.
