In pondering this question I thought of another. "Who is the who that decided what religion must be? If a higher power does not exist, religion is what we define it to be. Gibran (who happened to believe in God) spoke wisely when asking this question of religion, "Is not religion all deeds and reflection....Who can separate his faith from his actions, or his belief from his occupations?....Your daily life is your temple and your religion. Whenever you enter into it, take with you your all.....And take with you all men: For in adoration you cannot fly higher than their hopes nor humble yourself lower than their despair.." I like what Shelley wrote "A man to be greatly good, must imagine intensely and comprehensively; he must put himself in the place of another and in many others; the pains and pleasures of his species he must share." It wouldn't seem that this type of living would be isolating. Seems that thinking of others would expand our personal horizens and open up multiple opportunities for growth and acquiring of a bit of wisdom. I see this to be a good thing.
