: I did not mean to say that I could see no difference between the views of creationism and evolutionism. I was referring to the fact that opposing views such as creationism and evolutionism need not automatically fully deny the validity of the other. As I have stated before, and actually have done elsewhere in the past (non-Internet), I could as easily take the Evolutionism side and question the deficiencies of Creationism that you yourself have raised, as well as a few of my own that no one else has yet.

: I am curious about your Creationism questions that you haven't seen brought up here - what are they?

I have to admit that I haven't been following this bulletin board long, so perhaps they have been brought up, but not to me. Some of the top of my head (I'm at work now so can't stay long) are

1) If Man is a created being, how does one explain the evidence that "ontology recapitulates phylogeny"? Scientists and the medical profession have long known that during gestation the development of the human fetus closely resembles the proposed process of the evolution of humans from lower life forms. For example, the fetus will exhibit gill slits and a tail which gradually disappear (usually) by the time the baby is born. Why would human DNA contain the code for gill slits and a tail if they never possessed them at same time in their genetic past? rpcman (I think) pointed out similarity between various species on this planet, but I don't know if he meant this, exactly. I thought he was referring more to the similarity of organs and tissues.

2) Along the same lines, if Man has been created in the form of God, why does he have such structures as fingernails and toenails, hair, and vestigial structures as the coccyx and appendix? Such things as the male nipple can be explained in terms of economy of development (the male is essentially a modification of the female form caused by the release of male hormones at some time during development), but what purpose would apparently ornamental structures as beards and toenails serve Man (or God, if Man was patterned after Him) or a skeletal foundation for a tail?

3) How does Creation explain the different races of Man? At two points in religious creationist theory (initial Creation and the Flood), Man descended from a common set of parents. Why is there such diversity in skin color, height, facial structure, and other physical traits if we are all made in His image and Creation presupposes that Man has not been around for an appreciable length of time?

Those are a few. There are more, but I can't recall them at this point.
