Supposedly? You should read Ridley or Goldschmidt. Speciation has certainly been witnessed in nature.

I see design--design by cumulative natural selection. Looking closely will show you that you have to ignore the flaws inherient in natural selection to come up with any intelligence involved in the design.

That's not progression. That's adaptation. Progression has a goal in mind. Evolution has no goal but survival and procreation.

And putting a god more powerful than the universe on top of this makes it worth more?
