It's the stories that have touched you, that have influenced so many peoples lives. Why not appreciate it for what it is.
Maybe there true, maybe exagerated, maybe fabricatted. No one knows. But it doesn't have to diminish their affect on you one way or another.

Take the story of the ressurrection, which is paralleled in many other cultural mythologies. Maybe it really happened, maybe it didn't. I don't care.
The story has a variety of deep meaning to mean in it's symbolism.
