Have you ever heard epilepsy called the sickness of the Gods? In times past epileptics were said to be the recipients of divine revelation. The researchers cited in the link below have found a correlation between the brains of epileptics and those who are very religious. A tendency toward the spiritual may simply be a function of brain structure.
