Humans as a species are capable of rational thought, though. Now that I think about it, you've got to be joking. I take things too literally most of the time.
More on this: is it not agreed that, even if we allow that there are other species on earth capable of 'rational thought', this is orders of magnitude less than what humans are capable of? I'm accused of being egocentric for believing this.
