Think about this.
Where does the voice in your head come from? By this I mean, who is the "you" that directs your actions, makes decisions, and feels emotions?
Are you just a remarkably complex biochemical machine, responding to the laws of physics in a clockwork manner, with no real will of your own? That is the ultimate explanation of consciousness according to a reductionist/materialist philosophy.
Or do you actually have free will, the ability to "change the course of the future" by making choices which are not predetermined? I submit that every human that has ever lived believes this to be true according to their inner, subjective experience.
So where does the voice in your head come from?
