I find it more than a bit ironic that the Pagans, who are often associated with the supernatural in popular fiction, are the ones rooted in rational nature, while the Judeo-Christians tend to be the ones who's theology is based on the supernatural.

Interesting note. Particularly if you have read Apocalypse by D.H.Lawrence. He argues that Pagans were more in touch with nature and Christians have broken that link. The emergenge of Christianity was mainly the result of the low class which wanted to become the dominant class. Very similar to Robert Sheaffer book, Ressentment against achievement.
